Christian Lopez Swafford’s mother’s teacher, Anne Truitt has been a generational inspiration for MATERIAL LUST as we go INSIDE American artist Truitt’s 40 works on paper at the Matthew Marks Gallery in New York. Popularly known for her minimalist vertical sculptures, Truitt said, “i’ve struggled all my life to get maximum meaning in the simplest possible form”. Her commitment to exploring the relationship of line and form is further simplified through her works on paper in pencil and acrylic color fields. Take a look INSIDE.
